The Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority is internationally accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Services (UKAS) against the international standard ISO/IEC 17025 in the area of testing laboratories since 1999.

Having praised His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs, Board Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority distinguished the level reached by ADFCA’s laboratories, which was extended to include laboratory accreditation of Al Ain Branch in 11-15 November, 2007 against the international standard ISO/IEC 17025.

To achieve its vision to be an internationally recognized
authority in the field of agriculture and food safety, ADFCA intends to apply the following regulations within the five-year strategic plan 2009-2013:

1. ISO-9001:  This system aims to improve the management system in order to achieve a high level of quality that can be established to organize its operations, manage its resources and improve the economical way in all activities.


2. ISO-14001: This standard defines the requirements of environmental management to enable the formulation of the established policy goals and take into account the legislative requirements and significant environmental aspects with a view to achieve further development and improvement in the system of environmental protection with a balance with the needs of the environment.


3. ISO-17020: is the standard means the various activities of the inspection system regulations.


4. OHSAS 18001:  standard is concerned with occupational safety and health.
