WAM ABU DHABI, Dec 29th, 2009: No American hazelnut products that are reportedly contaminated with salmonella bacteria are present in Abu Dhabi local markets, Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) confirmed.

On Monday, ADFCA ordered complete withdrawal of hazelnut creams from Abu Dhabi markets and sent field inspectors to ensure the ban in enforced.

According to spokesman for ADFCA Mohammed Jalal al-Reyaysa, the said products were manufactured on October 12 and are valid only up to November 25.

Inspections for the contaminated products start at the country's points of entry, he noted.
