ADFCA priority lies in contributing to bring the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to an international destination in service excellence of the food sector, through elevating the awareness level of food handlers in the area of food safety and hygiene by implementing the Essential Food Safety Training and Certification initiative which was empowered in the newly launched Food law, where a clear clause has indicated the responsibility of the food establishment in charge on training their food handlers in the areas of health and food safety based on the Authority’s issued programs for this purpose.
The protocol demonstrates the parameters pertaining to training and certification of food handlers operating within the food establishments in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and places the high level framework for the training syllabus that is conducted though a recognized and qualified training companies, in addition to the examination and evaluation procedure conducted through third party, noting that the program has commenced in a gradual approach reaching toward 100% trained and certified food handlers by the year 2012.
