    During purchasing

  1. Select the food you buy carefully
  2. Buy your food from reliable retail establishments
  3. Select food that has not passed its expiry date
  4. Do not buy chilled food that is displayed at room temperature.
  5. Do not choose canned food that is badly dented or bloated.
  6. Avoid food packaging that is leaking or infested with insects.
  7. Do not buy food that has turned moldy or rancid
  8. Check that bottled milk or drinks are tightly sealed.
  9. Buy eggs that are clean and avoid the cracked one.
  10. While shopping: Keep raw food in separate bags away from ready-to-eat food.
  11. During preparing the food

  12. Wash knives and cutting boards between uses,
  13. Wash knives thoroughly especially after cutting raw meats,
  14. Use different serving plates for raw and cooked food
  15. Separate raw from cooked food
  16. In the refrigerator

  17. Keep the refrigerator's door close as possible, to maintain it's coldness.
  18. keep some empty space at the refrigerator for the cold air movement
  19. Place raw food in tightly wrapped plastic bags
  20. At the refrigerator : Place dry food above wet food
  21. Keep food at safe temperatures.
  22. Keep hot food hot and cold food cold.
  23. Do not leave cooked food standing at room temperature for more than 2 hours.
  24. Reheat stored cooked food by bringing them to a boil
  25. Portion out excess cooked food after cooking and refrigerate quickly.
  26. Keep cold food in the refrigerator or on a bed of ice until it is time to serve.
  27. Thaw food safely in the refrigerator overnight
  28. Marinate food safely in a covered bowl in the refrigerator.
  29. At the kitchen

  30. Wash your hands with soap and water before food handling
  31. Wash your hands before and after preparing each type of food, especially raw meat and seafood.
  32. Wash your hands after using the toilet
  33. Wash and soak fruits and vegetables before eating.
  34. Clean all kitchen surfaces with soap and hot water.
  35. Wash knives, cutting boards and kitchen utensils between uses
  36. Wash dishcloths frequently or use paper towels instead.
  37. Disinfect kitchen sponges in chlorine solution or heat for 2 minutes in the microwave oven.
  38. Clean up your kitchen as soon as possible.
  39. Do not let food residue dry on kitchen surfaces and utensils till it becomes more difficult to remove.
  40. While cooking

  41. Cook food thoroughly, especially meats
  42. Cook food at high temperatures (above 75oC).
  43. Meat that is pink is not thoroughly cooked
  44. Ensure the centre of meat and poultry are well-cooked
  45. Bring food like stews, soups and curries, to boiling temperatures when cooking.
  46. Consume vegetables and fruits freshly rather than canned or frozen
  47. Consume meats freshly rather than canned or processed
  48. Read the food labeling carefully.
  49. Trips and travels

  50. At travels, Keep your hands clean while preparing the food
  51. At travels keep with you paper towels to use it when needed
  52. At travels :keep the food at an ice bed, and be sure that It's exposed to a cold air
  53. When traveling, try to keep food containers closed., as possible.
  54. When purchasing your meal, eat it immediately to ensure it's safety
  55. If you feel unsure about the cleanness of a restaurant that you have to eat from, , eat cooked food only
  56. Be carefull of the cross contamination
