Over 5000 food businesses operate within the emirate of AD with a high growth rate , and more mega projects are in the pipeline, hence requiring a high caliber of food safety systems based on a transparent and clear legislative platform and managed in a friendly and cooperative environment for the private sector
ADAFSA must work to meet both the expectations of the private sector and enforce the stringent regulations to assure food supply, food safety, and animal health to the residents of Abu Dhabi. At present food businesses in Abu Dhabi have insufficient knowledge of how to apply safe hygiene practices with their food handlers. ADASFA has identified initiatives related to the development of the legislation, educational programs and awareness with a focus on the needs of the private sector to help ensure that the public is kept safe and the private sector operates in a more effective manner
This priority will contribute to government outcome of “A diversified and broadened economic base” and “Enhanced competitiveness of the business environment with a dominant role for the private sector”.
